Adding a watermark to an image
A watermark overlays your name, site or a word like "sample" onto an image to discourage unauthorised reuse. Here you type the watermark text and set its font size, colour, opacity and rotation before burning it into the picture. Place it in the centre or any corner, or switch to tile mode to repeat it evenly across the whole image.
Choose the opacity to match the purpose. If the point is to show the work, keep it faint so it does not spoil the view. For a sample or an unpurchased preview, a stronger, tiled watermark is more effective because it cannot be cropped away easily. Adding rotation so the text runs diagonally makes it more likely to survive a partial crop.
